GATRA buses are equipped with electronic fareboxes. Exact fare is strongly suggested. Please do not ask the driver for change, as they are not permitted to handle fares. No cash is returned from the farebox. Change is given in the form of stored value cards for future ride usage ONLY and is not redeemable for cash. Fares are non-refundable and non-transferable.

* GATRA issues "Statewide Access Passes" to persons who have a disability and persons 60 years of age or older. Eligible customers qualify for half-fare discounts on all public fixed-route transportation in Massachusetts, including GATRA buses and public commuter rail transportation.
Riders must complete an application from the transit authority in the area in which they live. GATRA's ADA application consists of two parts.The applicant fills out the first section and a licensed professional who can verify the applicant's disability must sign the second section. If you are unable to obtain a licensed professional's signature, you may submit one of the following in its place; a Medicare card, a letter signed by an administrator from a Veteran’s Administration (VA) office confirming that the disability is 70% or greater, or a Social Security (SS) letter stating the eligibility for benefits is based on a disability. Photo Identification cards are issued from the GATRA office. Please call the office for days and times of each location. The cost of the IID card is $3.00.
Seniors 60 years of age or older are eligible for half-fare on all public transportation in Massachusetts by filling out a one page application and showing a copy of proof of their date of birth. Senior photo identification cards are also issued from the GATRA office. Again, please call the office for days and times of each location. The cost of the ID card is $3.00.
