Gatra Partners with MassDOT and NuRide to Offer Riders Rewards for Making Greener Trips
Taunton, MASS – The Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority (GATRA) announced today its partnership with MassRIDES and NuRide to offer riders rewards for choosing healthier and “greener” transportation options, such as riding the GATRA bus.
NuRide, the country’s largest commuter rewards program, was developed to encourage people to make greener trips and earn rewards. From taking the GATRA bus, to walking, carpooling, vanpooling, biking, and even telecommuting, this program offers individuals the opportunity to receive points that can be accumulated and then redeemed for retail discounts, restaurant coupons, and tickets to shows and attractions.
“We are extremely proud of our NuRide partnership because ultimately it will result in reduced traffic congestion and energy consumption,” said Joanne Laferrara, GATRA’s director of consumer relations. “Our goal is to get more people to use public transportation and this unique program is an ideal way for our riders to be rewarded for using the GATRA bus,” added Laferrara.
This free service is made available in Massachusetts by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDot) and is supported by national and local sponsors who provide special offers to NuRide members who register on the NuRide website and track their trips.
