GATRA Bus to Meet CapeFLYER in Wareham

Beginning Friday June 27, 2014, GATRA will provide weekend shuttle services that will connect with the CapeFLYER passenger train in Wareham Center. The GATRA shuttle will cost $1.00 each way.

Two shuttles, one travelling from Wareham Center to Onset, and a second going to Marion and Mattapoisett via Rt. 6, will meet the train at 6:40 PM on Friday nights and transport passengers to destinations along these two shuttle routes. On Saturdays and Sundays, the GATRA shuttle will pick up CapeFLYER passengers at 9:08 AM and will return to the station at 7:40 PM.

The CapeFLYER, operated by the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA), which last year stopped in Buzzard Bay, has now added a stop in Wareham at a station off Main Street near the Wareham Fire Department. GATRA is pleased to announce that the Tri-Town Connector will begin service on Monday, July 7, 2014. This new service will provide expanded bus service to the towns of Norfolk, Wrentham and Foxborough and will also connect to the Franklin Area Bus (FAB) at the Big Y in Franklin.

There will be several stops along the Tri-Town Connector route, including the Wrentham downtown municipal parking lot and senior center, Foxborough’s Patriot Place marketplace and medical centers, and the MBTA station and Massachusetts Correctional Institution prisons in Norfolk.

The bus will operate Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

Except along Route 1, passengers may board the bus anywhere along the bus route by waving to the driver as the vehicle approaches. All GATRA transportation is equipped with accessibility for wheelchairs.
