Today, the Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority (GATRA), in cooperation with MassDOT and the 14 Regional Transit Authorities (RTAs) serving Massachusetts, announced the expansion and redesign of Ride Match, the web-based tool that offers quick, easy access to information about transportation options for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and anyone needing to travel in Massachusetts.
The new website and branding campaign reflects over two years of careful planning and collaboration between GATRA, the RTAs, and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). All the information in Ride Match is supplied and maintained by the individual RTAs and private transportation providers throughout the Commonwealth.
“We are thrilled to see Ride Match expand into a state-wide resource,” said Mary Basilone, GATRA Mobility Manager and project manager for the Ride Match program. “It is both a valuable resource for people and agencies searching for accessible transportation options and also a great tool for transportation planning and collaboration throughout the state.”
Since its inception in 2012, over 200,000 users have accessed the Ride Match online resource to locate transportation options in their communities. The website now features a new branding identity with an updated logo and fresh modern desktop and mobile design that reflects Ride Match’s evolution from a regional to statewide resource.
Along with the new brand identity, Ride Match now offers the following enhancements:
- Streamlined Search Function: Allows users to input the City of Origin and City of Destination without first typing in the County.
- Rich New Content: Contains hundreds of new provider entries, all organized in a way to provide users easier access to vital information about the service, including wheelchair accessibility, reservation and cancellation policies, types of services, types of vehicles used, service area and fares.
- Multi Language Support: Provides non-English speaking users access to vital information about transportation options in Massachusetts.
- Links to Additional Resources: Connects users to other statewide programs such as MassRIDES commuter options or Mass 2-1-1 programs and services.
