What is MedWheels?

Provides non-emergency long distance medical transportation for seniors and people with disabilities in any of GATRA’s 30 communities. The program is grant funded using State and Local funding sources. There is no fare for trips, however donations are appreciated.

Who is eligible?

• Persons 60 years of age or older who are registered for GATRA Dial-A-Ride service.
• Persons who are not 60 years of age but have a disability and are ADA eligible.
• Persons who have no other means of transportation ie. certain MassHealth members are eligible for transportation.  To verify transportation eligibility please contact MassHealth directly 800-841-2900.

How to Make a Reservation:

To check eligibility, please call 508-823-8828 ext. 252.
When the number is called, a Voicemail will be reached. Please leave your name, phone number, date of birth, appointment date and time, appointment location and how long the appointment will be.

Riders must call at least 3 business days before the day of their appointment. Trips can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance.
